Sradhanjali, Baivab win state sub-junior chess titles

Jajpur girl Sradhanjali Jena and Puri boy Baivab Mishra won titles in respective categories of the State Sub-junior Chess Championship, which concluded at the Universe in Cuttack today. Second seed Sradhanjali finished with seven points, winning all her seven games, while Baivab topped the table with 7.5 points from nine rounds.

IPS officer Sushant Kumar Nath and chess International Master Swayangsu Satyapragyan presented the trophies and cash prizes at the closing function. The top four finishers in each category qualified to represent Orissa in the Sub-junior National Chess Championship, which is scheduled to be held at Aurangabad (Maharashtra) from May 1.
